Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry reaches young people in grades 7 through 12.  It involves in-depth Bible study on Sunday mornings, Discipleship and recreation on Wednesdays, and Youth Choir on Sunday evenings.  There are also many other opportunities for retreats, ski trips, mission trips, camps, and special events.  Much of this ministry is done by specially trained youth leaders who pray for, minister to, and are accountable for other young people.

Senior Touch Ministry

This ministry provides much needed services to the senior adults in our community.  It may mean providing transportation to the store, pharmacy, or doctor's office.  It could be a hot meal for a shut-in.  Many Senior Touch volunteers provide for such physical needs as sitting with a loved one, minor home repairs, etc.

Music Media Drama

This ministry includes graded choirs for preschoolers through senior adults.  There are instrumental ensembles, vocal ensembles, and hand bells available to those who would like to be a part of this praise ministry.

Keenagers (Senior Adults)

Our senior adults meet monthly and at other special times.  There is usually food, but always fun.  This group participates in many activities off campus such as attending special events and trips.

Helping Hands Ministry

Many people in our community find themselves in need.  Sometimes it is for food clothing, or the basic necessities of life.  We believe that Jesus would provide for physical needs as well as spiritual ones.  Our Helping Hands ministry uses volunteers to provide help, counseling, caring, and love in God's name.

Each year our Feast of Plenty provides a hot, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal to people in the are who would not otherwise have that opportunity.  We reach out into care facilities, half-way houses, shelters, and other areas where people are needing a special touch from God.

Preschool & Children

From birth through grade 6, preschoolers and children are special at First Baptist Church.  There is something for the entire family every time we meet.  Sunday School provides preschoolers and children the opportunity to learn about and experience God's love.  Our Preschool and Children's Choirs are actively involving children in music education, drama, and performance.  Missions education and involvement for children and preschoolers takes place on Wednesday evenings.  Oh, by the way, don't forget to ask about our Children's Fall Festival and other special activities.

Children's Church and Extended Teaching Care are available during worship services.

Good News Ministry

Each week over 35,000 people attend the Market of Marion located on 441 just South of Belleview.  The Good News Ministry provides Sunday School for the children of the vendors and a chapel experience for any who wish to attend.  This ministry also mans several booths that do face painting, blood pressure checks, witnessing bracelets, knowledge board, and other activities designed to develop witnessing opportunities.

Little Friends Christian School

For over 30 years, First Baptist Church has provided a Christian-based quality preschool ministry.  Little Friends Christian School now has classes for three years old through Grade 3.  Student population is controlled so as to provide a quality, Christian learning environment.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer warriors staff our prayer room from early in the morning until late at night.  There are special teams in the prayer room during worship services and special services.  These people focus specifically on intercessory prayer for missionaries, people in crisis, the yet to be saved, and our church ministries.  People from around the world send prayer requests to this ministry.

The members of First Baptist Church believe that God wants a more intimate relationship with each one of His children.  That intimate relationship is grown through a personal time with God.  Prayer is vital in building that intimate relationship.  Here at First Baptist Church we bathe everything we do in prayer.

Our Prayer Room is staffed from early morning until late in the evening with dedicated Prayer Warriors.  These Prayer Warriors do not use this time for personal prayer, but strictly for intercessory (or praying for others) prayer.  This intercessory prayer covers, missionaries, governmental leaders, public safety personnel, people in crisis, people who need a personal relationship with Jesus, our church leadership, members, and ministries.
