The Fundamentals of Our Church Membership

The Vision

The vision of this church is uncomplicated because it is clearly stated in Matthew 28:19 & 20 which says:

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Therefore our desire is to obey this command through: “using every resource available to reach every person available with the Gospel and equip them to become biblical followers of Jesus Christ.”

The Vehicle

The “local Church” is God's chosen “vehicle” to carry out His commission. Therefore in practical ways and with solid organization we meet to pray, study, plan, and propagate the purpose of the church to be a “resource” to people to exercise their spiritual gifts through ministry. The church consists of “people” and we therefore have a task to “nurture” those who need ministry and development and equip them to face life with a new and renewed mind and soul. We have an obligation to teach the inerrant Word of God in a practical and understandable way in order to encourage members to live Christian lives, and we have a calling to reach those in the community, country and world with the good news about Jesus.

The Methods

We are a “congregationally” governed Church. In other words. the “members” are in control while appointing and setting aside Pastors to be in spiritual authority according to God's Word. We are very pragmatic and purpose driven and design a process for organization and ministry by appointing Trustees, ordaining Deacons, forming Committees and formatting departments to be efficient in working together and under God, to achieve the task of being an effective organization.

The Means

The only income we receive is that which comes through the offerings taken every Sunday. We have no other source of income and this offering “fuels” the budget which pays salaries, overheads and ministry expenses. Therefore we teach, expect and encourage our members to “tithe” and support the local church and a portion of that income is distributed through the Southern Baptist Convention to Missions in America and all over the world.

The Affiliation

We are “affiliated” to and a supportive and cooperating church of the Southern Baptist Convention.
